and in the hospital at the time of Fannin's retreat from Goliad, as described by Abel Morgan, who says:

"I had charge of three sick and one wounded men. The latter was shot by one of our guards in the night, because he would not answer him. His name was Solomon Hamilton from Mississippi."
There was no "Solomon Hamilton" on the roll of Fannin's men, and several members of Winn's Company were from Mississippi.

The wounded Solomon in Morgan's charge went through the action of March 19th in the hospital wagon forty yards or more east of Fannin's square, and after Fannin's surrender on March 20th, was returned to Goliad, and massacred with the other wounded on March 27, 1836.
