Petition to Divide Washington Township.
To the Honorable Judge of the County Court of Miller County:

The undersigned petitioners humbly beg leave to show to your honor that a large and extensive portion of Miller County lying and being about the town of Jonesboro which is now known by the name of Washington township which is so extremely large as means inconvenience to the Citizens of this section in consequence of this extensive township.

The undersigned petitioners humbly beg leave to shew your honor that the inconvenience of said Township could be divided (?) much more convenient (?) to its inhabitants by having the same divided by .................. a line at the la........ by the name of the Big or ho....... lake ........ about four miles below the mouth of Upper Pine Creek running south with the Spanish trace to the Sulphur fork and thence up said Sulphur fork, including all the (the) settlement to Red River, thence with said river to the beginning corner and that the undersigned petitioners would ask this Township to be known and called by the name of Fulton township.
