Neil M. Howison died November 21, 1921 at Bogata.

Mary Eliza [Humphreys], the sixth child of William and Mary Humphreys and so far as is known, the first child born in what is now the town of Bogata, was born September 5, 1837. Married 1856 to George Wm. Howison, born February 1, 1831, a native of Prince William County, Va., a grandson of James and Catherine Allen Howison. On the death of the father, Alexander, his mother in 1845 moved with her family of boys to Callaway County, Mo., where George grew up. The maiden name of the mother was Margaret Luttrell. George came to Texas in company with W. P. Clatterbuck. The first home of William Humphreys on the branch was given to George and Mary Eliza. The Humphreys had built up on the edge of the prairie.

Three children were born to them: Margaret Ann, born November 11, 1856, Sarah Jane, or "Sallie", born January 6, 1859, and Mary Eliza, born January 23; 1861, the mother dying on January 24, 1861. The Humphreys took the children to raise. Later the two oldest lived with their father after his marriage February 2, 1866 to Rebecca Reed Humphreys, a sister of Mary Eliza. To this marriage was born one child, Mattie, who died before she was a year old. George died June 22, 1879. Rebecca, his widow, married Spencer C. Keeling on December 15, 1883. She died June 10, 1917. S. C. Keeling died July 4, 1921.
