and lived at Clarksville. Their children were: Carrie, Martha, and Sue. Carrie Simms married a Mr. Mauldin and lived at Gainesville. Martha Simms married Jesse Gray and lived at Clarksville and Bagwell. Sue also married. Cynthia Stanley married a Mr. Welch and lived at Sulphur Springs, and they had a toll bridge. They had two children, Clark and another child. Clark Welch married Fannie. Their children were: William Welch, who never married, and Fannie, who married Will McClure.

[The Dickson Family of Tennessee]

Mr. Dickson lived in Perry County, Tennessee. His children were: Elizabeth, Hannah, James W., and another daughter.

Elizabeth Dickson married Fernifore Stanley in Perry County, Tennessee. They came to Texas in 1842. Her brother, J. W. Dickson, had come in 1833 with the Latimers. Their children were: John, who died in young manhood, James Wright, William, Carolyn, Allen and Adeline, twins, neither married and lived at Clarksville. Other children were: Marion, Emaline, who died in childhood, James K. Polk, Samuel, and Angeline. [See p.138 for children's sketches.]

Hannah Dickson married Oscar Gray and came to Texas. Their children were: Oscar, Sallie, Amanda, and Jesse.

Oscar Gray[, Jr.] married Margaret Brem and lived in Clarksville and Jefferson. They had no children. His second wife was Kitty Kirk and they lived at Clarksville. He served in the Civil War.

Sally[/Sallie] Gray married John Brem and lived in Clarksville and Jefferson. They had no children.
