CHAPTER XV.

TWO PROMINENT FAMILIES OF RED
RIVER COUNTY, CLOSELY RELATED
TO THAT EARLY PIONEER,
COLLIN McKINNEY

There are two well known families of the county that are descendants of the early pioneer, Scott McKinney.[*] One is that of Scott McKinney, of Bogata, Red River County, who is the son of Collin J. McKinney and the grandson of Younger Scott McKinney, he, Younger, being the son of Collin McKinney.

The other family is that of Mr. P. Y. Creager, a very prominent surveyor of Red River County, living now in the City of Clarksville.

Daniel McKinney, brother of Collin McKinney, was buried at Boxelder in August, 1825. Daniel McKinney was the father of Bexie McKinney. Bexie McKinney became the wife of William Creager. Wm. Creager and Bexie McKinney Creager were the parents of Younger Scott Creager.

Younger Scott Creager was the father of Ida Creager, Dallas, Texas; Will R. Creager, Chowchilla, Calif., and Paul Y. Creager of Clarksville, the latter being the father of Paul Y. Creager, Jr., of Dallas. (Reported by Paul Y. Creager, Sr.).

[* Seems like this should read "... that are related to the early pioneer, Collin McKinney."]
